September 2026 Horse Clinic Participant Openings Alternative Horsemanship™

Horse Behavior and Help Clinic with Alternative Horsemanship™
Alternative Horsemanship™ Clinic

Southern California Horse Clinic Participant Availability

A couple of last-minute cancellations came in for the September clinic in Southern California. I wanted to use to explain how these personalized clinics work.

One horse, one rider, my full attention, for the whole session.

Alternative Horsemanship™ teaching in a private horse clinic to a mounted student with horse watching

Choose from: 1-hour private or a half day (3.5 hours), offered at your boarding or private facility.

Often, people come for help with the spook that "comes out of nowhere," the horse that's fine until he isn't, the "disinterested" horse, the one with a trailer loading "problem," or the equine that displays "girthiness." All of these are symptoms of a root cause (or causes), showing up in various unwanted, resistant, defensive equine behaviors.

The premise behind Alternative Horsemanship™: I'm not interested in teaching you a standardized technique or method. I genuinely care that horse enthusiasts learn the difference between containing or masking unwanted behavior and learning the skills to communicate effectively with the horse long-term. Prioritizing how to translate the horse's feedback, and how to adapt the time, energy, and release of your aids, allows for what I call a Conversation — rather than the typical Screaming Match — in the partnership.

Ongoing horse challenges? Unsure of "what" to do, or "how" to help your horse?

"The horse is doing the best he can based on the communication the human has provided."

A 1-hour private is often enough to gain clarity and define the root cause(s). The half day allows for time to focus on helping you recognize and "translate" the horse's communication while also learn fundamental skills to help him.
