Horse Tips with Pippin: Uneventful Tacking Up- Quality Equine Partnerships

Horse Tips with Pippin: Uneventful Tacking- Quality PartnershipsThis is not about "training" the horse to obediently stay. Instead, it is a result of helping eliminate his reasons to leave. When Pippin arrived he would do everything he could to get away from being saddled.

Every moment of Interaction with the horse is an Opportunity to influence his mind, emotions, and physical behaviors.

If you are starting a session needing to contain the horse, are seeing a constant busy-ness in him, have the equine near you but notice his focus is elsewhere, something has been missed.

If you ignore and do not address (without critique) the horse's feedback about the Tacking Up experience, his emotions, and physical chaos, or defensiveness, will influence the ride that follows.

If you don't acknowledge and believe the horse's subtle, reasonable way of communicating, they will evolve into big, dramatic, and potentially dangerous behaviors.
