What does Horsemanship mean? By Alternative Horsemanship the Remote Horse Coach

 Horsemanship... (my random morning thoughts)

Isn't a "thing" or a fad... it is a mindset influencing a way of being.

It isn't following steps 1, 2, and 3 but a human who is mentally present, available, and adaptable.

It isn't about task accomplishment but recognizing all the small segments of Quality communication needed to help the horse.

It isn't about tricks, gadgets, or a "circus act", but simplicity and clarity in the connection with the horse.

It isn't about time limitations but about time for exploring and experimenting.
It isn't about "I have tos" but rather "I get tos."

It isn't about keeping up or comparing oneself to others but a journey of self-growth and ever-evolving awareness.

It isn't about creating quick complying horses but rather thoughtful, willing partners.

It isn't about critiquing the resistant horse, but exploring for root causes of holes in the equine's education.

It isn't about how much or fast we can do things, but how the horse is mentally and emotionally after the human experience.

It isn't about fixating on what isn't, but instead continually appreciating what is.
It isn't about blaming the horse for what he is not doing but first acknowledging what the human is or isn't offering.

It isn't about types of equipment, gadgets, or magic tack "solutions", but instead refining the simplicity of what is "needed" during the interaction with the horse.
It isn't about routines or auto-pilot mindless responses but instead having adaptable, searching horses.

It isn't about tense-bodied, hard-eyed, compliant equines tolerating human chaos, but bright-eyed, mentally present, emotionally calm, physically soft, curious horses.
