Do you ever think of the interaction with your horse as a Conversation?
Think of the qualities a good conversationalist has...
*The ability to listen
*Taking time to formulate thoughtful and intentional discussions and interactions
*Being able to hear and respectfully address information offered by the other participant (Even when there is a difference of opinion)
*Finding a respectful "ending point" so that there is opportunities for future Conversations to continue
If more folks approached the interactions with their horses with an empathic Conversationalist approach, they would be contributing to building an equine partnership based on trust and respect.
Every interaction with the horse, whether at feed time, leading to turn out, or just grooming, is an opportunity for a quality Conversation, however brief it may be.
