Horsemanship: Allowing the Time

 Direct route isn't the fastest

I find folks unreasonably expect (and are sales-pitched) things should happen quick and immediate with horses.

It isn't about the act of slowing down and Taking Time.

Instead it is about Allowing the Time for the horse to learn, think, try, and process during the human interactions.

Here my working student is taking horses out to the pasture which is at the rear of the property.

The Walk is an Opportunity for a Conversation forthe horses to stay mentally available to the human, rather than anticipation on task fixation, and hurry to get turned out.

So many people miss the Opportunity to help their horse because the human disregards the value and effect of the experience on the horse, both in the short and the long term.
