Clarity & Intention- Evolving the Equine Partnership
Too many people are unclear in what, where and how they communicate with their horse. They unintentionally "challenge" the horse into guessing what they want. Then they reprimand the horse every time he can't figure it out. Or they present a task using the same manner of communication repetitiously, driving the horse's stress levels up, until he accidentally figures out what the person is asking. The more the horse has to "guess" at what the person wants, the more he will tune out the person's aids or communication and can become dull and unresponsive to the aids or feel like he is "taking over" during the session.

New Year, New Horse Goals, and New Intentions
Human Intentions influence everything - creating either a positive or negative outcome with the horse.
Alternative Horsemanship the Remote Horse Coach Quote
Often the human is distracted by the horse's unwanted behaviors- without acknowledging the root source(s) often stemming from the animal's mental and emotional state.
Without starting in a mentally clear, present, and available place, many horse enthusiasts unintentionally "dump" their
life's chaos and stress upon the horse, and it becomes their filter of how they perceive the equine's behavior.
So much lack, delay, and miscommunication occur if the human's emotional rollercoaster is delegating their interaction with the equine.

Intention and Horses- Improving the Equine Partnership
It is very easy to come up with all the reasons why you can't or to avoid and delay addressing things with the horse.
Much of what we initially consider as being "horse issues" typically are an accumulation of smaller undesired moments, reflecting our level (and lack of) awareness, mental presence, and intention.
Human Intention and Horse Behavior by Alternative Horsemanship
I just finished teaching an Alternative Horsemanship six-day clinic and there was a student who was retelling his morning interaction with the horse. Things had not gone as he expected, and he was negatively referring to the horse's behavior in human emotional terms.

Horse Behavior- Reviewing the Release by The Remote Horse Coach
As with everything, there are many interpretations when it comes to the terminology associated with horses. I try to be clear and precise in the words that I'm offering, but there still can be a gray area in the human student's understanding. This often comes from their level of awareness, background, and unintentional anticipation/expectation of their mind "getting ahead" of wherever they are currently at with their horse.
